The Parent Support Group
At Roydvale our form of a PTA is the Parent Support Group or as they are commonly referred to the PSG.
The PSG organises a range of activities throughout the year. Some of these events are fund-raising based and other events such as the school disco, the monthly sausage sizzles, community events and the road patrol roster are run either to provide a service that benefits the school or to organize an event that brings the community together.
This group's strong fundraising programme has allowed the school to provide a range of 'extras' that would otherwise not be possible. These can be seen in the impressive range of library books, the curtains for the hall, the two playgrounds, laptops and computers in the classroom, the sandpit, the library redevelopment, new sports uniforms, shade sails, picnic tables, planting - the list goes on.
Since 1991, when the PSG was established, over $240,000 has been raised by the Roydvale community through the efforts of the PSG.
Without the strong support from the PSG, Roydvale would be a poorer place, both in financial terms and in the strong spirit that exists at Roydvale. Thank you to all the past and present members of the PSG for all the things you have done for Roydvale. Thank you also to our parents and friends of the school, who support the PSG so as the children have a well-resourced and attractive school to attend.
The group meets once a month. Refer to our weekly newsletter for the date of the next meeting.
